Ing. Miloslav Konopík, Ph.D. (*1981) works as the senior researcher and teacher at the New Technologies for the Information Society European Centre of Excellence (NTIS) and at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He specializes at Natural Language Processing, namely the branch of semantic analysis. He focuses on new ways to employ machine learning techniques to obtain better semantic representations of given texts.
Miloslav is an author of several scientific journal and conference papers. According to the Google scholars, his work has been cited more than 150 times. Miloslav has been the leading scientist in 5 grants and 7 national and international contractual research agreements.
Miloslav is teaching the Natural Language Processing course, and he is preparing the Deep Learning course. During his career, he has supervised a few Ph.D. students and a lot of Master and Bachelor students.
